It is a new and modern hostel opened in 1994 and enlarged in 1999. It is located 23 km. from the Señorío de Bertiz Natural Park, 48 km. from San Sebastián and 66 km. from Pamplona. Aterpe I, of 2nd category, has a capacity for 45 people in 6 rooms and Aterpe II, of 1st category for another 75 people in 8 rooms of 8 places 4 rooms with beds and bunk beds and shower included. Services: Adventure activities for groups. Adventure park, speleology, guided tours, workshops. Service of monitors.
Restaurant
Cozy restaurant in the town of Arantza (Bortziriak), with dining room with fireplace and bar area. The restaurant belongs to the Arantza Hostel.
Specialties: puff pastry stuffed with leeks and mushrooms, peppers stuffed with mushrooms, red kidney beans, quail delights with soy sauce and raspberry, beef steak, pigeon (October-November), roast lamb (January-May), marshmallows in hunter’s sauce with mushroom nest. Apple and raisin puff pastry on the house hot custard, cheese and raspberry tart.
In October and November it offers game dishes as part of the Baztan-Bidasoa Hunting Gastronomic Days.
