Zugarramurdi is known for being the town of witches. The cave that bears their name preserves the unique appeal of the time when covens were held around the fire and the Inquisition persecuted the belagiles, or witches. Today all this halo of mysticism and magic is kept in the Museum of the Witches and in the impressive cave. Every August 18 these celebrations are remembered at the Zikiro Jate festival.
An entry ticket gives the visitor a €1 discount on the entrance to the Witchcraft Museum.
