On foot or by bike, travelling the Bidasoa Greenway is to discover the green landscapes and traditional villages drawn by the passage of the Bidasoa river. From Oieregi to Endarlatsa, it is a 35 km journey along the route of the old Txikito railway line, for a mining train started in 1898 to connect Irún with Navarre. It is an easy and pleasant route to discover areas of great beauty, such as meadows and forests dotted with picturesque hamlets.
You walk over different types of ground along the way, such as compacted earth, concrete and tarmac. It is not difficult to do, as it is practically flat. You should bring a torch with you, as the path goes through 7 tunnels of different lengths, although there are lights in longest ones. The section between Legasa and Sunbilla (9.3 km) is suitable for wheelchair users.
The route begins in Oieregi, next to the Bertiz Natural Park.
