At the edge of the St James Way, in the centre of what was the medieval city of Estella-Lizarra, is the church of San Pedro de la Rúa, the city’s largest church, whose 12th century cloister is considered one of the finest in the Navarrese Romanesque style, due to its sculptural richness.
In front of the Navarre Kings Palace and perched on a height from which it dominates the city, the church also has a beautiful 13th century portico, with lobed arches of Arab influence and rich ornamentation; as well as an imposing tower; and an interior that houses Romanesque choir stalls and various Romanesque and Gothic sculptures of interest.
