Discover a true natural paradise in the Sierra de Urbasa. In this nature reserve is the spring which is the source of the river Urederra (“beautiful river” in Basque), which leads on to numerous waterfalls and beautiful turquoise blue pools of water.

Located north of Estella-Lizarra, it is the natural outlet for the aquifer formed in the karst massif of the Urbasa-Andia Natural Park. A 6.2 km path (return trip) runs between beech groves along groomed paths to let you contemplate the impressive pools and waterfalls forming. Its enormous natural attraction has made the place an essential visit in the foral community.

To promote Sustainable Tourism and preserve natural resources, access to the location is limited to 500 people per day, so it is essential to book beforehand.

Access: The signposted path starts from the Baquedano reception area located at the entrance of the town, where the car park (where it is mandatory to park) and tourist information point are.

  1. The reservation is valid until 12 pm on the day of the visit.

The path is not suitable for people with reduced mobility or for prams. Dogs must be on a leash.
