Between Urrotz and Beintza-Labaien, there is a closed basin covered with beech trees which obscure 2 mountain lakes. These are the Leurtza reservoirs, a beautiful and peaceful landscape declared a Natural Recreational Area.
To enter, you can walk a 3.5 km signposted path that borders the two reservoirs and enjoy the flora and fauna of the location, among which frogs are a notable feature.
The area has two car parks, information points, information tables, a fountain and a service area.
It is reached by taking the N-121A road towards Irún, before turning to Doneztebe/Santesteban, then by the NA-4040 to Urrotz. A 5 km tarmac road goes up to the Leurtza reservoirs.
